In the fiercely competitive AFC North, the Baltimore Ravens know that staying on top means keeping a close eye on the division rivals. Ravens General Manager Eric DeCosta recently took a moment to tip his cap to the Cleveland Browns—and their draft strategy has clearly caught his attention.
Speaking on the C4 and Bryan Nehman Show, DeCosta didn't hold back his praise for Browns GM Andrew Berry and the team's recent draft success. "I think they had a really nice draft—both this year and last year," DeCosta noted. "Andrew Berry deserves a lot of credit. He's a sharp evaluator, and his picks are well thought out. There's a thorough process behind it all."
DeCosta specifically highlighted last year's second-round steal, defensive standout Schlesinger, who went on to earn Defensive Rookie of the Year honors. "In my opinion, he was one of the best players in the entire draft," DeCosta added. "They did a hell of a job, and I thought they had another strong draft this year."
With offensive coordinator Todd Monken now calling plays as head coach, DeCosta sees a team that's building toward something significant. "That's a team that will eventually be one to reckon with," he said.
This isn't bulletin board material—it's genuine respect from one of the NFL's sharpest front office minds. But for Ravens fans, it's also a reminder: the road to the playoffs in the AFC North just got a little tougher, and the Browns are stacking talent to match.
