Nathan Eovaldi was spectacular against New York Yankees, holding them to three hits in eight innings as Texas Rangers roll.

Nathan Eovaldi delivered a masterclass on the mound Wednesday night, stifling the New York Yankees in a dominant 6-1 victory that had Texas Rangers fans buzzing. The veteran right-hander was nearly untouchable, scattering just three hits over eight innings of work while striking out eight and walking only one batter. It was the kind of performance that reminds everyone why Eovaldi is such a key piece of the Rangers' rotation—and why his game-day gear is always in high demand.

The Rangers' offense gave Eovaldi plenty of support, starting early and never letting up. Corey Seager, who had been in a bit of a slump, broke out in a big way with a 2-for-5 night that included a towering solo home run in the top of the first inning. That blast—his seventh of the season—cleared the right-field wall and set the tone for the evening. Jake Burger also chipped in with a 2-for-4 performance, while the Rangers pounded Yankees starter Will Warren, who suffered his first loss of the season and fell to 4-1.

The real fireworks came in the third inning. Ezequiel Duran, who has been on an absolute tear at the plate, smashed a double to left field that scored Brandon Nimmo and pushed the lead to 2-0. Duran is now hitting .303 with an .833 OPS, proving he's become a reliable force in the lineup. But the Rangers weren't done there. Later in the same inning, Evan Carter connected for a two-run home run—his fourth of the season—and suddenly Texas was up 4-0. The momentum carried into the fourth inning, where the Rangers added two more runs to make it 6-0.

The Yankees finally got on the board in the bottom of the sixth when Aaron Judge launched his 15th home run of the season, but that was all New York could muster. Eovaldi and the Rangers' defense shut the door from there, securing a convincing win.

Despite the lopsided score, the Rangers left some runs on the table, going just 2-for-10 with runners in scoring position and stranding seven base runners. Still, when your pitcher is dealing like Eovaldi was, a little offensive inefficiency doesn't matter much.

The win improved Texas to 17-19 on the season, good for third place in the American League West. Meanwhile, the Yankees—despite the loss—remain atop the AL East with a stellar 25-12 record. It's still early in the season, but performances like this one show the Rangers have the talent to make some noise if they can find consistency.
