Aston Villa boss Unai Emery says he is unsure whether Amadou Onana will be available for Thursday’s Europa League semi-final first leg against Nottingham Forest.
The midfielder missed the 1-0 Premier League defeat to Fulham with what the Villa boss described as a minor injury.
“He was not feeling good yesterday. He had some small pain,” Emery said.
“I don’t know if he will be available for Thursday. It’s about how every day he is progressing.
“I don’t know if he will be ready for tomorrow, Thursday or next Sunday. The only player we know can’t play is Barkley as he is not in the list.”
Ryan Sessegnon scored the only goal of the game to hand Villa defeat at Craven Cottage.
Emery says his side played well enough to deserve something from the game but says his team must be more clinical.
“Those four chances in 90 minutes, it was something to be clinical in to score a goal, but we were not clinical,” he said. “We have to continue practising to score a goal with the chances we had.”
