Manchester United have reportedly made a decisive call on the future of star striker Elisabeth Terland, setting the stage for a potentially pivotal summer transfer window. The Norwegian forward has been a standout performer since joining the club from Brighton & Hove Albion in July 2024, quickly establishing herself as a fan favorite and a key figure in United's attack.

Terland's journey to United was marked by a free transfer after her contract with Brighton expired, following an impressive two-year stint where she netted an incredible 49 goals for the Seagulls. At just 24 years old, she signed a two-year deal with United, with an option for an additional 12 months—a move that has proven to be a masterstroke for both parties.

Her debut campaign at Leigh Sports Village was nothing short of spectacular. Terland scored 12 goals in 27 appearances, playing a crucial role in securing Champions League football for the Red Devils. This season, she has continued to shine, leading the team in scoring for the second consecutive year with 15 goals in 31 matches across all competitions. However, an injury sidelined her in late March, casting a shadow over her immediate future.

According to The Athletic, United are now willing to listen to offers for Terland this summer. The report states: "Manchester United will consider selling striker Elisabeth Terland in the summer if they receive an offer that meets their valuation." The club's preference is to recoup a fee to reinvest in the squad, rather than risk losing her on a free transfer next year when her current deal expires.

Despite the uncertainty, sources indicate that the relationship between Terland and the club remains positive. "The Norway international would like to stay, but the club and player have not reached an agreement over a new deal," the report adds. Notably, Terland rejected a contract offer back in November, leaving negotiations at a standstill.

As United prepare for their next WSL clash against Chelsea on May 16, all eyes will be on how this transfer saga unfolds. For fans, Terland's potential departure would be a significant blow, but it also signals United's intent to build a squad capable of sustained success—whether that means cashing in on their top scorer or finding a way to keep her in red.
