Kevin Willard has been putting in the work this offseason, and the blueprint for his squad is really starting to take shape. The latest piece to officially join the fold is Elijah Crawford, who was announced today as the team's likely new starting point guard.
Willard couldn't hide his excitement about the addition: "Elijah is another important step as we build our roster. He's a dynamic on-court leader with the vision to create shots for his teammates and the skill to score himself. He's a great fit for our program, and we're thrilled to have him."
Crawford is the seventh player to officially sign on for the 2026-27 season, joining a talented group that includes Tyler Perkins, Matt Hodge, Adam Oumiddoch, Kwame Evans Jr., Jake Fiegen, and Devin Royal. Here's what Willard had to say about each of them:
Tyler Perkins: "Tyler does so many things that impact winning. He adjusted really well to a new style of play this past season, and we're excited to have him back as one of our leaders."
Matt Hodge: "I think everyone saw how valuable Matt was to our team when we lost him. We really missed him, and we can't wait to see him back on the floor fully recovered."
Adam Oumiddoch: "Adam is a versatile player who can impact the game in so many ways. As one of the best pure scorers in this class, he can score at all three levels. He'll make an impact from Day 1, and we're excited to have him at Villanova."
Kwame Evans Jr.: "Kwame's unique combination of athleticism, length, and skill will help us on both ends of the court. He brings the kind of intelligence, character, and experience that impacts winning in every way. We're excited to welcome him to the Nova Nation."
Jake Fiegen: "We're thrilled to welcome Jake. He's a high-energy player who combines elite shooting skill with toughness at both ends. His experience and tenacity will have a huge impact on our team."
Devin Royal: "From the moment I watched tape preparing to play against Devin earlier in his career, I just knew he was special. His growth and potential are exactly what we're building around."
With this core in place, the plan is coming together nicely. Fans have every reason to be excited about what's ahead.
