Senior Aliza Kulig is an excellent all-around athlete who is off to a blazing start this spring in track and field.
Kulig had a banner day last week during a meet on her home track at Eleva-Strum High School. She won titles in the 100- and 300-meter hurdles and the high jump. She also ran on the winning 4x400 relay team.
Kulig was named her school’s track athlete of the year the past two seasons. She holds the school record in the high jump.
Kulig also is an outstanding volleyball player who has committed to play collegiately in that sport for Viterbo University.
She played a key role as a starting forward on the Eleva-Strum girls basketball team that was ranked No. 1 before finishing second in the state this past winter.
Kulig also excels in the classroom as the salutatorian of her senior class.
The Leader-Telegram recently caught up with Kulig, the High School Athlete of the Week, to learn a little more about her.
