The high school baseball and softball seasons are heating up in the Central Section, with two local powerhouses extending impressive win streaks and shaking up the league standings.

In a pivotal East Yosemite League baseball clash, the El Diamante Miners (13-4, 4-1) edged out the Redwood Rangers 8-6 to secure their eighth consecutive victory. The win, fueled by a balanced offensive attack, propelled the Miners into a first-place tie with Monache. Gauge Rivas and D’Angelo Dalle Messe each drove in two runs, while D.J. Gonzalez went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate. On the mound, junior starter Eli Palomino earned the win, and Dalle Messe sealed the deal with a save. This victory is particularly significant as it marks only the third EYL loss in program history for Redwood, the reigning three-time league champions.

Meanwhile, on the softball diamond, the Redwood Rangers' own winning streak continues to grow. They powered past Dinuba to extend their remarkable run to 12 consecutive games, showcasing the depth and resilience that defines a championship-caliber team. Every win builds momentum, and this streak firmly establishes Redwood as a force to be reckoned with this season.

In other softball action, the Tulare Union Tribe delivered an offensive explosion, defeating Justin Garza 13-3. Freshman standout Jaksyn Freitas led the charge with a phenomenal day, going 4-for-4 with a double, a home run, four RBIs, and three runs scored. Fellow freshman Ava Hernandez secured the win in the circle, striking out four over four innings. Contributions came from up and down the lineup, with key hits from Aliyah Cardenas, Taylor Lewis, and Faith Jimenez highlighting a complete team performance.
