The Philadelphia Eagles didn't just show up for the NFL Draft—they dominated it. If there was one team that truly did it all, it was the Eagles, executing flawlessly on both the trade and draft fronts to set themselves up for success.
General Manager Howie Roseman was a man on a mission. While other teams were content to sit back and hope for the best, Roseman aggressively addressed needs. The Eagles landed dynamic playmakers like wide receiver Makai Lemon and tight end Eli Stowers, but the biggest headline was a blockbuster trade with the Minnesota Vikings to acquire edge rusher Jonathan Greenard. Instead of rolling the dice on a rookie pass rusher, Roseman secured a proven veteran talent, signing Greenard to a four-year, $100 million contract with $50 million guaranteed.
But the Eagles aren't finished yet. According to The Athletic's Brooks Kubena, Philadelphia is expected to continue adding depth at the edge rusher position later this offseason. "I wouldn't expect the Eagles to be done adding depth at edge rusher and safety this summer," Kubena wrote, noting that the team also selected offensive linemen Markel Bell (No. 68) and Micah Morris (No. 207) to bolster their Pro Bowl-caliber starting lineup.
The message is clear: the Eagles are building for now and the future. While they likely won't part with more draft capital for another edge rusher, a savvy veteran free agent signing—someone who's been around the league and can provide reliable depth—makes perfect sense. For a team that already looks stacked on paper, these final touches could be what pushes them over the top.
