When Kevin Patullo joined the Miami Dolphins this offseason, it raised some eyebrows in NFL circles. But the former Philadelphia Eagles assistant knows exactly what he brings to the table—and it's a lot more than just a playbook.
"All five years in Philadelphia, I had such a handle on a lot of different things," Patullo recently told A to Z Sports. "I was assistant head coach and then I was part OC throughout my entire time there, and even last year. I was so heavily involved in a lot of things."
For Dolphins fans looking for hope, Patullo's resume is a blueprint for success. He was part of an Eagles organization that went from building a program from the ground up in 2021 to winning two NFC championships and making two Super Bowl appearances. That kind of experience doesn't come cheap in the NFL.
"Just seeing what goes into it, right? When you have a new roster, you're trying to set a new culture in place, you're trying to set a new offense in place," Patullo explained. "It's going through that and what it takes each year to kind of get to that level. It takes a lot."
Patullo's move to Miami is just one of several storylines surrounding the Eagles organization. In other news, the NFL is set to officially announce international matchups on Wednesday morning, but we've already got a leak that beat the league to the punch. The Philadelphia Eagles will face the Jacksonville Jaguars in London at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in a Week 5 road matchup. The game kicks off at 9:30 AM Eastern on Sunday, October 11—and Eagles fans can breathe easy knowing the Birds are NOT losing a home game for this international trip.
Looking ahead to the 2026 season, there's plenty of buzz about which Eagles players could see elevated roles. One name generating particular interest is running back Tank Bigsby. During a four-game stretch from Weeks 7 to 11, Bigsby proved to be an effective runner, carrying 17 times for 156 yards—an impressive 9.2 yards per carry average. But then, inexplicably, the Eagles seemed to put him on ice. He got 17 carries in garbage time against the Raiders and 16 carries in the Week 18 "resting starters" game against the Commanders, but in the five other games from Week 12 onward, Bigsby managed just eight total carries—a mere 1.6 per game.
On the season, Bigsby finished with 58 carries for 344 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 5.9 yards per carry—nearly two yards more than the league average. If the Eagles are looking for a spark in their backfield, Bigsby's numbers suggest he's ready for a bigger role. Whether the coaching staff agrees remains to be seen, but for a team always looking to stay ahead of the curve, giving a playmaker like Bigsby more touches could be a game-changer.
