Paulo Dybala's future at Roma remains a hot topic, and the latest developments suggest the Argentine star could be staying in the Italian capital. With his current contract set to expire on June 30th, Dybala's intention is clear: he wants to extend his stay and continue wearing the Giallorossi jersey.

His agent, Carlos Novel, was spotted in Trigoria yesterday to discuss the situation with his client. However, the timing couldn't be more complicated. With sporting director Massara reportedly preparing to leave the club, there's a noticeable absence of decision-makers at the Fulvio Bernardini training ground to negotiate a new deal. Instead, Novel met with Gian Piero Gasperini, who has emerged as a close ally in recent days.

The last meaningful conversation about a renewal happened about a month ago, when Massara hinted at a possible extension, fueled by the coach's desire to keep Dybala in the squad. But then, internal turmoil at Roma brought everything to a halt.

Dybala arrived in Rome in 2022 with a rising contract structure. He earned €3.5 million plus bonuses in his first season, which climbed to €4.6 million in 2023, then €6 million, and now sits at €8 million—including bonuses. The 30-year-old playmaker knows he can't maintain those figures, but a significant pay cut could pave the way for an agreement.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the base salary could drop from €8 million to €2-2.5 million plus bonuses, with some incentives potentially tied to sales of the club's centenary jerseys—a creative twist that blends loyalty with commercial appeal. If no deal is reached, a move to Boca Juniors looms, but Dybala's priority is to continue playing in Europe, with a possible detour to Miami also on the radar.

For now, Roma fans can hold onto hope that their number 21 will stay put, as the club works to find a way forward in uncertain times.
