For the second straight season, Dakota Wesleyan University's Allison Meyerink has been named the Great Plains Athletic Conference Women's Golf Player of the Year, the league announced Friday. The sophomore from Mitchell, South Dakota, who currently ranks 80th nationally, also headlines the all-GPAC first team—a fitting cap to a standout campaign.
Meyerink's dominance this season was hard to miss. She racked up six individual event victories, including her second consecutive GPAC tournament title, which earned her captain honors on the all-tournament team. Her consistency also earned her four conference golfer of the week awards. Next up: the 2026 NAIA Women's Golf National Championships, starting May 19 in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
Meyerink wasn't the only Tiger making waves. Junior Sara Sudenga of Sioux Falls also secured a spot on the all-GPAC first team, marking her third all-conference honor. Her season highlights include a second-place finish at the DWU Spring Invitational and a top-250 national ranking. Sophomore Dakotah Larson from Hartford added to the team's success with an all-conference honorable mention.
Across the conference, Morningside's Macy Button took home Newcomer of the Year honors, while Mustang head coach Nick Wanderscheid was named Coach of the Year.
On the men's side, DWU also had reason to celebrate. Senior Peyton Bettcher and sophomore Dakota Munger each landed on the all-GPAC second team. Bettcher closed out his season with a third-place finish at the GPAC championship and all-tournament honors, while Munger's spring highlight was a second-place finish at the DWU Spring Invitational. Freshman Ben Wilber, a Hanson High School product, earned an honorable mention nod.
Hastings' Henry Kosmicki took home GPAC Men's Golf Player of the Year, while the Broncos' coaching duo of Gabe Escalera and Skyler Good shared Coach of the Year honors. Max Nielsen, also of Hastings, earned the all-tournament captain spot as individual medalist. Morningside's Dylan Welford rounded out the honors as Men's Newcomer of the Year.
