Dundee close to safety but 'still have work to do'

In the aftermath of Dundee's 1-0 win over St Mirren last time out, head coach Steven Pressley declared "we still have work to do". Dundee have a lot in their favour – as well as their six point cushion, two of their remaining trio of fixtures are at home, starting with this weekend's visit of already relegated Livingston. A win over Livingston this weekend would secure Dundee's top division status – a draw may also possibly be enough.

Dundee are on the verge of securing their top-flight status, but head coach Steven Pressley insists there's "still work to do" after his side's crucial 1-0 victory over St Mirren. That win has given the Dark Blues a six-point cushion over the Buddies, who now sit in the relegation play-off spot with just three games remaining.

With safety within touching distance, Dundee fans can finally start to breathe a little easier. The numbers are certainly in their favor: a six-point buffer, plus two of their final three fixtures at home. This weekend, they host already-relegated Livingston at Dens Park—a golden opportunity to seal the deal. A win would guarantee top-division survival, and even a draw might be enough depending on other results.

But Pressley isn't letting his guard down. The run-in still includes a tricky trip to tenth-place Kilmarnock, a side that can be formidable on their own turf. And while Dundee's goal difference (-21) is marginally better than Killie (-26) and St Mirren (-24), it's far from comfortable. A defeat this weekend would leave them looking over their shoulders, with the pressure firmly back on.

For a team that's battled hard all season, this is the moment to finish the job. With the right gear and the right mindset, Dundee can cross the finish line in style. After all, survival is about more than just points—it's about pride, performance, and proving you belong at the top table.
