Cayden Boozer, the Duke Blue Devils' guard, has announced his plans for the 2026-27 college basketball season.

The sting of Duke's Final Four loss to UConn is still fresh, but in college basketball, there's no time to dwell. The focus at Cameron Indoor Stadium has already shifted to building for the 2026-27 season, and a major piece of the puzzle just fell into place.

Freshman guard Cayden Boozer, a key contributor to Duke's impressive 35-3 campaign, has announced he will return to the Blue Devils. This decision comes as his twin brother, projected NBA lottery pick Cameron Boozer, prepares for the professional ranks, marking a significant divergence in their immediate basketball journeys.

Boozer's return is a substantial boost for head coach Jon Scheyer's roster. The guard provided valuable depth and poise in his first year, appearing in all 38 games and earning 11 starts. He averaged 7.7 points and 3.0 assists per game while shooting an efficient 50% from the field.

While his season ended with a heartbreaking turnover in the national semifinal against UConn, that experience only adds to his maturity. Returning with that motivation, Boozer is poised for an expanded role and will be a central figure as Duke looks to make another deep March run next season.
