The timing of this extension is no coincidence. In just two seasons at the helm, Diaz has compiled an impressive 18-9 record, notching nine wins each year. The 2023 campaign was a storybook season, capped by a thrilling overtime victory over Virginia in the ACC title game and a subsequent Sun Bowl win against Arizona State. Furthermore, Diaz has established Duke's dominance within its own state, boasting a perfect 6-0 record against ACC rivals North Carolina, N.C. State, and Wake Forest during his tenure.
