2-seed Duke will open the ACC softball championship with a Round 2 rematch against either 7-seed Clemson or 10-seed UNC.

Duke softball's quest for a third ACC championship just got a whole lot clearer. The tournament bracket was unveiled Sunday afternoon, and the Blue Devils have their sights set on another title run.

As the No. 2 seed behind powerhouse Florida State, Duke earns a first-round bye and will face the winner of the 7-10 matchup between defending ACC champion Clemson and North Carolina. It's a rematch that promises plenty of drama.

The Blue Devils already know what it's like to battle both teams this season. Back on April 10-12, they took two of three from UNC in Chapel Hill, with the series finale featuring a multi-home run performance from USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year finalist Aminah Vega. Just 12 days later, Duke hosted Clemson for their regular-season finale and once again won two out of three, including a commanding 10-2 run-rule victory in Game 1.

Under sixth-year head coach Marissa Young, the Blue Devils have been a force all season. They finished the regular season 33-12 overall with an impressive 16-3 record against ACC opponents. Their last conference crown came in 2024, when they defeated Florida State in the finals while hosting the tournament in Durham—the same year they made their most recent trip to the Women's College World Series.

For now, Duke gets to sit back and watch as Clemson and UNC battle it out. Their Round 2 game is set for 5 p.m. ET at Palmer Park in Charlottesville, Virginia. The path is set, and the Blue Devils are ready to chase another championship.
