The Oregon Ducks baseball team might want to start practicing their cowbell tolerance. According to the latest NCAA tournament projections from D1Baseball.com, the Ducks are slated to head deep into SEC territory for the Starkville, Mississippi Regional.

Currently sitting at 33-11 overall and 15-6 in Big Ten play, Oregon isn't projected to host at PK Park this time around. Instead, they'd enter as the No. 2 seed in a regional hosted by Mississippi State—a familiar powerhouse in college baseball circles. It's a scenario that could actually set the Ducks up for a strong postseason run if they can navigate the hostile environment.

But before you book your flights, remember this is just a projection. There's still plenty of baseball left on the schedule, and the Ducks have every chance to change their fate. With upcoming series against two other Big Ten teams expected to make the postseason, a few key wins could easily elevate Oregon back into hosting contention.

The Bulldogs, currently the host school, boast a 35-10 record and a 13-8 mark in the rugged SEC. However, they face a tough test this weekend against No. 4 Texas, which could shake up the projections significantly.

Joining Oregon and Mississippi State in this hypothetical regional would be Oklahoma State (28-17, 11-10 Big XII) and Wright State (19-22, 12-3 Horizon League). Despite their middling overall record, the Cowboys boast a solid RPI of 36—just behind Oregon's 26. Wright State, meanwhile, is expected to win the Horizon League and would enter as the No. 4 seed.

In terms of Big Ten representation, Oregon is joined by USC, UCLA, and Nebraska as the conference's projected postseason participants. For Ducks fans, this is a promising sign—but there's still time to turn that projection into a home-field advantage.
