Angel Reese needed a simpler night—and that's exactly what she delivered.

After a rocky Atlanta Dream debut that featured inefficiency and turnovers (despite some impactful defensive stats), Reese cleaned things up in a big way on Tuesday. The result? A gritty 77-72 win over the Dallas Wings that pushed the Dream to 2-0 on the season.

Reese kept it clean and effective: just eight shot attempts, four makes, and a perfect 4-for-4 from the free-throw line. That added up to 12 points, but her real impact came on the glass. She hauled in 16 rebounds—eight of them offensive—while also chipping in two assists, one steal, and one block. Sure, she had three turnovers, but her plus-1 rating in 34 minutes told the story of a player who let the game come to her.

She didn't have to carry the scoring load, either. Allisha Gray poured in 26 points, Jordin Canada added 19, and Rhyne Howard chipped in 14. On the other side, Paige Bueckers finished with 15 points on 5-of-12 shooting, while Arike Ogunbowale led Dallas with 20. But after an explosive opening win over the Indiana Fever, the Wings' offense was held in check by a disciplined Atlanta defense.

The unsung hero? Naz Hillmon. She played 36 minutes, finished with just 1 point and 3 rebounds, yet posted a team-best plus-12 rating. Sometimes the best stats don't show up on the box score—she made life miserable for Dallas without flashy numbers.

A 2-0 start is exactly where the Dream want to be, and Reese's ability to simplify her game is a huge reason why. Sometimes less really is more.
