Big changes are coming to Los Angeles sports radio, and one of the city's most passionate Dodgers voices is stepping into a major new role. Doug McKain, the familiar face and voice behind Dodgers Nation's hit show "Dodgers Dougout Live," is joining 97.1 The Fan for an exciting new chapter in his career.
Starting May 11, McKain will co-host the afternoon drive show "DMAC & Reiter" alongside veteran broadcaster Bill Reiter, airing weekdays from 2 to 6 p.m. The move marks a homecoming of sorts for McKain, who has long dreamed of hosting his own show in the City of Angels.
"Words can't describe how excited I am to be hosting my own radio show in Los Angeles," McKain shared. "Ever since I called into 'The Jim Rome Show' at 8 years old, I've dreamed of having a sports show of my own—and now, with 'DMAC & Reiter,' that dream is a reality."
McKain joins an impressive lineup at the Audacy-owned station, which launches at 6 a.m. on May 11. The roster includes former NBA star Derek Fisher and Cody Decker for the morning slot (6–10 a.m.), followed by Brock Vereen and Alex Curry (10 a.m.–2 p.m.), before McKain and Reiter take over the afternoon drive.
For fans worried that McKain's new gig might mean less Dodgers coverage, there's good news: he'll continue his work with Dodgers Nation and "Dodgers Dougout Live" alongside his radio duties. So whether you're tuning in for hot takes on the Dodgers, Lakers, or Rams, McKain's voice will still be a staple of LA sports conversation.
"Los Angeles is the sports capital of the world, home to the biggest stars, the best teams, and the most passionate fans anywhere," McKain added. "I can't wait to bring those fans honest, informed takes on the teams and players they love."
With a lineup stacked with local legends and rising stars, 97.1 The Fan is shaping up to be the new go-to destination for LA sports talk. And for fans who love their sports gear as much as their sports talk, this is the perfect time to refresh your wardrobe with some fresh team apparel—because every great game day starts with the right fit.
