DORAL — So much has changed at the Blue Monster since the PGA Tour last held an event at the course outside of Miami owned by Donald Trump.

But one change that cannot be missed is the 15-foot statue of Trump that sits on the property just off the walkway between the first tee and driving range.

The statue sits on a two-tiered concrete pedestal that is approximately 7-feet.

"It's big and gold," Jupiter's Rickie Fowler said. "About all I got. It's his place he can do whatever he wants."

When asked about the statue, Englishman Tommy Fleetwood chuckled.

"If I have my own resort one day maybe I'll put a big gold statue of me on it," he said. "We'll see."

Gary Woodland, who lives in Delray Beach, said the statue reminds him of the trophy awarded to the winner of The Players Championship.

The statue depicts Trump with his right fist in the air, his pose after shots were fired in his direction at a July 13, 2024, campaign rally in Pennsylvania. It was commissioned by cryptocurrency group $Patriot, created by Ohio sculptor Alan Cottrill, and installed weeks before the Cadillac Championship, which will be held at Trump National Doral April 30-May 3.

The Tour returns to Doral 10 years after the last event was held at the same venue. Doral has hosted four LIV Golf events in the last five years.

The 3.1-ton bronze statue is covered in gold leaf. The pedestal weighs 7,000 pounds.

"It's his place he can do whatever he wants," Brian Harman said.
