Kamren Kinchens is getting lost amid Rams’ offseason defensive additions. Don’t forget about him.

When you look at the Los Angeles Rams' offseason moves, it's easy to focus on the big-name additions to their secondary. Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson are generating headlines, and rightfully so. But in the excitement over these new cornerbacks, there's a player already on the roster who deserves just as much attention: safety Kamren Kinchens.

While the Rams' cornerback room has been a revolving door in recent seasons—with Ahkello Witherspoon, Cobie Durant, and Darious Williams all moving on—Kinchens has quietly emerged as one of the NFL's best young safeties. According to Pro Football Focus (PFF), he finished the 2025 season as the eighth-highest graded player at his position. Even more impressive, he ranked fifth in coverage grade, trailing only Antonio Johnson, Kyle Hamilton, Bryan Cook, and Jalen Pitre.

What makes this even more exciting for Rams fans is that Kinchens isn't working alone. His safety partner, Kamren Curl, ranked as PFF's second-highest graded run defender at the position. Together, they form one of the league's most formidable safety duos. But in today's pass-heavy NFL, Kinchens' coverage skills carry premium value.

The numbers back it up. As a rookie in 2024, Kinchens allowed just 25 catches on 31 targets for 291 yards, while snagging four interceptions and breaking up two passes. In 2025, he saw more action—39 targets—but remained stingy, allowing 34 receptions for just 280 yards. He added two more interceptions and forced five pass breakups. That's the kind of consistency that builds championship defenses.

With McDuffie and Watson now raising the bar at cornerback, the Rams' secondary has the potential to be a true strength. But don't let the new arrivals overshadow the young star already holding down the fort. Kamren Kinchens is ascending, and he still has room to grow. Keep his name on your radar.
