Don Bosco Prep's boys lacrosse dynasty continues to reign supreme in Bergen County. The Ramsey-based powerhouse captured its sixth consecutive county championship with a commanding 8-2 victory over top-seeded Ridgewood on May 9, further cementing their legacy as the gold standard of high school lacrosse in the region.
Senior attackman Brady Kushner led the charge with two goals, joined by fellow seniors John Devir and Hudson Villaruel in the scoring column. The second-seeded Ironmen showcased the depth and discipline that has made them a perennial contender, controlling the tempo from the opening faceoff and never allowing Ridgewood to establish rhythm.
While the victory marked Don Bosco's eighth county title overall, Kushner insists this team has yet to reach its ceiling. "We're close right now. We're playing well and riding an eight-game winning streak, but we're not there yet," he said. "We're taking it one game at a time and continuing to build. Tonight was an important step."
The championship matchup has become a familiar one, with this being the fourth meeting between Don Bosco and Ridgewood in the title game over the past five years, and the sixth in tournament history. For the Ironmen, each victory adds another chapter to a storied program that shows no signs of slowing down.
As the team continues its pursuit of postseason glory, fans can expect to see more of the same intensity and teamwork that has defined this championship run. For now, the celebration is well-deserved, but as Kushner hinted, the best may still be ahead.
