The Miami Dolphins made a lot of selections during the 2026 NFL Draft, and their first was a big one, literally.

After a small trade-down with the Dallas Cowboys, the Dolphins took Alabama offensive lineman Kadyn Proctor at No. 12 overall. The only question now is where the versatile lineman will play for the Dolphins in 2026.

As Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN shared on Twitter/x, Dolphins general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan revealed that the team plans to play Proctor not at left or right tackle, but rather left guard.

"Jon-Eric Sullivan told @JoeRoseShow that first-round pick Kadyn Proctor will start out at left guard and the team will see how things progress," Louis-Jacques writes.

The plan for Miami is to keep Patrick Paul at left tackle and have Proctor slide right in next to him at the left guard spot.

Aaron Brewer will remain the team's center, and now at right guard, the Dolphins will switch last year's left guard Jonah Savaiinaea, to the right guard spot to play next to Austin Jackson.

Miami's plan for Proctor might not end at a guard spot, as the Dolphins will continue to train him at a tackle spot, according to Sullivan.

However, for the time being, the Dolphins' No. 12 overall pick after a trade-down will be sliding into the starting left guard spot between Paul and Brewer.

That left side of the offensive line is looking fairly promising, with Paul at left tackle, Proctor at left guard, and Brewer at center, which will make the only area of worry the right guard and right tackle spots.
