That strikeout was his 48th of the season, leading all Dodgers pitchers.

Remarkably, more than a quarter of his career strikeouts have come since joining Los Angeles ahead of the 2024 season. He posted a career-high 168 strikeouts in his first year with the Dodgers, earning his first All-Star Game selection, then followed with 106 more in 2025. Glasnow's journey to 1,000 strikeouts began with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2016, where he split time between starting and long relief. After 24 strikeouts as a rookie and 56 in 2017, he moved exclusively to relief in 2018, fanning 72 batters in 34 appearances before being traded to the Tampa Bay Rays. He closed that season with 64 more strikeouts in 11 starts. Over five seasons in Tampa Bay, Glasnow was electric, tallying 526 strikeouts in 388.1 innings with a 3.20 ERA across 71 starts.
