Los Angeles needs reinforcements.

The Los Angeles Dodgers may already boast one of the most star-studded rosters in Major League Baseball, but even the best teams have their weaknesses—and for L.A., the biggest concern is starting pitching depth. After yet another injury to ace Tyler Glasnow, the Dodgers are facing a familiar problem: staying healthy on the mound.

Glasnow went down again on Wednesday, raising red flags for a team eyeing a third straight World Series title. When you have high-risk arms like Blake Snell and Glasnow leading your rotation, durability is always a question mark. That’s why the Dodgers need to act fast and reinforce their pitching staff before it’s too late.

Enter Michael Wacha. According to FanSided’s Robert Murray, the veteran right-hander could be a perfect fit for L.A. While Murray didn’t directly link Wacha to the Dodgers, the logic is hard to ignore. The 34-year-old is in the midst of another solid season, posting a 3.05 ERA over seven starts—continuing a streak of four straight years with an ERA in the 3s.

Wacha is signed through 2027 on a three-year, $51 million deal, which means he’s not just a rental. That controllability could be a double-edged sword for the Dodgers: they’d be taking on salary beyond this season, but they’d also be getting a reliable, proven arm who won’t break the bank in trade negotiations. If the Kansas City Royals fall out of contention, Wacha will be one of the most sought-after pitchers on the market.

Is he an ace? No. But that’s exactly the point. The Dodgers don’t need flash—they need consistency. And after another Glasnow setback, a steady veteran like Wacha could be the glue that holds their rotation together through October.
