The Los Angeles Dodgers are set to activate reliever Brock Stewart from the IL. After a stellar rehab assignment, find out how Stewart fits into the bullpen and who might lose their roster spot to make room.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are on the verge of a major bullpen boost, with reliever Brock Stewart expected to be activated from the injured list in the coming days. After a dominant rehab assignment, the right-hander has rejoined the team in Houston and could be ready to make an impact against the rival Astros.

Stewart, originally drafted by the Dodgers in 2014, pitched for the team from 2016 to 2019 before being claimed off waivers by the Toronto Blue Jays. He returned to Los Angeles at the 2025 trade deadline, but his stint was cut short after just four appearances due to shoulder inflammation. Following a procedure, he missed the remainder of the season.

Now, Stewart appears fully recovered. He began his rehab assignment with Single-A Ontario on April 14, allowing just two baserunners across two outings. He continued to shine with Triple-A Oklahoma City, proving he's ready for the big league stage.

"His role with the Dodgers clearly is going to be a guy, hopefully, high-leverage against righties," said Dodgers Nation's Doug McKain. "The beautiful thing about this is they don't want to go out there and make trades for relievers. They want as many of these guys as options, and Stewart is certainly an option."

Stewart's track record speaks for itself. He posted a stellar 2.38 ERA in 39 appearances with the Minnesota Twins before being traded to the Dodgers in exchange for James Outman. In his limited time with Los Angeles last season, he struck out three batters over 3.2 innings, though his ERA sat at 4.91.

With Stewart's return imminent, the Dodgers face a tough roster decision. One potential candidate to be designated for assignment is fellow right-hander Blake Treinen, who threw just one pitch for a groundout against the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday. As the team looks to solidify its bullpen, Stewart's addition could provide the high-leverage arm they need for a deep postseason push.
