The Los Angeles Dodgers have built a roster so deep with star power that even their top prospects have to wait their turn. But one young outfielder, acquired in the blockbuster Rafael Devers trade with the Boston Red Sox, is making it impossible to ignore him any longer.

James Tibbs, now 23, is tearing up Triple-A with an eye-popping 1.017 OPS through 37 games, along with 11 home runs and 27 RBIs. According to FanSided's Christopher Kline, Tibbs is "on a heater" and clearly ready for the big leagues. The only thing standing between him and his first MLB call-up? A certain $60 million-a-year star named Kyle Tucker.

The Dodgers signed Tucker to a massive contract this offseason, effectively blocking Tibbs' immediate path to the outfield. But in a season where depth is king, Los Angeles has the luxury of patience. "An injury could open the door at a moment's notice," Kline noted, "or the Dodgers simply decide to stick Tibbs on the bench and use him situationally, reaping the benefits of their preposterous depth."

Tibbs originally landed with the Giants before being flipped to Boston in the Devers deal, then was traded again—this time to Los Angeles for Dustin May. It's a move that could prove catastrophic for the Red Sox in hindsight, especially if Tibbs lives up to his potential. The Dodgers also boast other top-20 outfield prospects in Josue De Paula and Zhyir Hope, but Tibbs' age and current hot streak make him the most logical candidate for a promotion.

Whether or not Tibbs gets those at-bats this season, the Dodgers know their postseason odds won't suffer. It's the kind of depth every team dreams of—and the kind that keeps fans and fantasy players alike refreshing their transaction alerts.
