Dianna Russini is removing herself from the public spotlight. After stepping down from The Athletic and new photos surfacing on social media with New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel, Russini has deleted her X account.
Russini, who previously denied a romantic relationship with Vrabel, was seen kissing the NFL coach in new photos that were published ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft.
Both Russini and Vrabel are married to other people and have had their personal lives rocked after the photos of the two together became public.

While Russini deleted her account on social media, Vrabel held a press conference ahead of the draft.
“I take accountability for my actions and for the actions that caused distraction to the people that I care most about — my family, this football team, the organization, and the fans,” Vrabel said during the pre-draft press conference.
“My previous actions don’t meet the standards that I hold myself to, they don’t — and I think it’s best for the two most important things in my life — my family and my football team — is for us to take the necessary steps to work together and to get done what I told them I’d give them, which is the best version of me.”

Since announcing her resignation, Russini has not addressed the affair allegations, but Vrabel’s claims strongly contradict her previous statements.
Russini had claimed she resigned from The Athletic “not because I accept the narrative that has been constructed around this episode, but because I refuse to lend it further oxygen or to let it define me or my career.”
