When the Detroit Pistons take the court for a playoff game, the real show often starts in the stands. And if you think fans are just grabbing free T-shirts at the door, think again—Pistons supporters are making a bold fashion statement that’s all their own.

At Little Caesars Arena for Game 2 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday, May 7, the energy was electric. But what really caught the eye wasn’t just the action on the hardwood—it was the style in the seats. From blinged-out Detroit jackets and custom buffs to sparkling 313 chains and hats, fans were dressed to impress.

“We show up and show out,” said Nick Bondarek, a 53-year-old Detroiter rocking a custom No. 72 jersey with “Superfly” on the back. “T-shirts are for washing cars, you know what I mean? I have a $200 jersey. I’m not going to cover it up with a free T-shirt.”

Bondarek and his fiancé, Shay Magnes, 45, coordinated their looks with hats and Detroit chains. Magnes turned heads in a blue jersey paired with a pink skirt and hat—an outfit she said was inspired by the sneakers worn by Pistons center Jalen Duren. “We want to represent our own style, and it is a fashion show,” she added.

For Hawa Hoff, 51, of Detroit, the game was a chance to debut “the dopest jacket in the city.” Created by G. Harris on Facebook, the custom piece paid homage to the legendary “Bad Boys” era, featuring icons like Isiah Thomas, Dennis Rodman, and John Salley. It was a throwback that blended history with high-fashion flair.

The message is clear: Pistons fans aren’t about blending in. They’re about standing out—with every stitch, chain, and jersey telling a story of pride, passion, and personal style. Whether you’re thrifting a vintage jacket or adding a lucky wig to your game-day rotation, it’s all about making a statement that’s as unique as Detroit itself.
