The Detroit Lions are heading to Germany this fall, and now we know exactly when their international showdown will take place.

Mark your calendars for Sunday, November 15, when the Lions take the field at FC Bayern Munich Stadium in what promises to be a historic matchup. Fox CEO Lachlan Murdoch confirmed the Week 10 game will air as part of a special triple-header, kicking off before the network's usual 1 p.m. and 4:25 p.m. slots.

This marks Detroit's first international game since 2015, and the excitement is building. The NFL will officially announce the opponent during Wednesday's "Good Morning Football" broadcast, but the Lions are expected to face one of three teams: the New England Patriots, New York Giants, or Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

While the full NFL schedule drops Thursday, networks are already teasing their biggest matchups during Upfront presentations to advertisers. NBC kicked things off by announcing the Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants as their "Sunday Night Football" opener.

For Lions fans, the Germany game brings some interesting scheduling questions. Team president Rod Wood revealed in March that the Lions likely won't get a bye week after their international trip, given the game falls less than two weeks before Thanksgiving. The league typically avoids giving teams a bye before the holiday, especially when their opponent would be playing on short rest.

"We're in a little bit of an odd situation with the game likely in November and Thanksgiving," Wood explained, adding that he specifically requested the NFL not schedule back-to-back Thursday games for Detroit on Thanksgiving and the following week—something that's happened the past two seasons.

Whether you're planning a trip to Munich or just gearing up for an early-morning kickoff stateside, this is a game Lions fans won't want to miss. Get your gear ready and stay tuned for the official opponent announcement!
