The Broncos hit new heights during Sean Payton's third season, posting a gleaming 14-3 mark -- good for first in the AFC. If not for an untimely Bo Nix injury, Denver could have punched a ticket to its first Super Bowl appearance since 2015.
Payton's side looks well-equipped to put forth a similar display in 2026. The Broncos added Jaylen Waddle to their ranks in the offseason, parting ways with a 2026 first-round pick to do so. The Lombardi Trophy beckons in the distance, ready for a new holder. Denver's investment in Waddle suggests that it wants to contend for the prize sooner rather than later.
Payton has been renowned for his ability to coax talent of unusual places. He'll have to do so again if he wants to make the most of his draft class; left without a first rounder, Denver will be digging through crates in the hopes of finding an undercover gem.

The Broncos have seven selections in the 2026 NFL Draft. They are as follows:
Running back: J.K. Dobbins is back, having inked a big-money extension that saw his salary quadrupled. The 27-year-old was on pace for a career-best season before he was cut down by a Lisfranc injury. He and RJ Harvey struck up quite the partnership during their time in Denver's backfield, but they both offer similar attributes. A hulking third-down back capable of absorbing -- and dishing out -- punishment could be appealing.
Tight end: Evan Engram will be 32 years old at the start of the season. His numbers plateaued markedly, even compared to a fairly underwhelming 2024 campaign. It might make sense to prepare for the future in the tight end slot, especially with prospects like Eli Stowers and Oscar Delp expected to dip into the second round.
Here's a look at how the Broncos' draft board could shake out, based on the seven-round mock draft from SN's Vinnie Iyer.
The first round of the 2026 NFL Draft is on Thursday, April 23, from Pittsburgh.
