The Los Angeles Rams currently have two picks on Day 2 of the 2026 NFL draft: Nos. 61 and 93. After taking quarterback Ty Simpson at No. 13, the Rams set a precedent that they're starting to think about the future.
Will that apply to the second and third rounds? We'll see. Experts have started to make their predictions ahead of the start of the first round.
Here is a roundup of Day 2 picks from draft experts for the Rams:
No. 61. TE Eli Stowers, Vanderbilt: The Rams used a second-round pick on Terrance Ferguson last year, but could still add more depth to their tight end room with Colby Parkinson set to be a free agent after the season. Stowers converted from quarterback to tight end and developed into an All-American talent at the position. He posted 62 catches for 729 yards and six touchdowns during his final college season and has the athleticism needed to be a unique after-the-catch weapon.
No. 93. WR Brenen Thompson, Mississippi State: The Rams could use an explosive, downfield playmaker to join Puka Nacua and Davante Adams. Thompson ran the fastest 40-yard dash at the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine, completing the drill in 4.26 seconds. His 5-9, 164-pound frame will create some durability concerns, but his field-stretching capabilities could make him a unique threat out of the slot.
No. 61. WR Chris Bell, Louisville: The Rams surprised nearly everyone by taking Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson in the first round, a move seemingly unconducive to a team in win-now mode. Bell, who suffered a torn ACL in November, doesn’t inherently fit the bill, either. But before his injury, his ball skills and post-catch playmaking put him in the first-round conversation, and he’d be a good value pick here.
No. 61. WR Malachi Fields, Notre Dame: The Rams first-round pick Ty Simpson is in place as the quarterback of the future, but Fields can be an immediate asset on offense with his 6-foot-4, 218-pound frame and ability to beat defenders at the catch point.
No. 61. OT Caleb Tiernan, Northwestern: Los Angeles adds competition to the right tackle position. Caleb Tiernan is a fundamentally sound lineman who is maybe a bit more capped on potential.
No. 61. WR Malachi Fields, Notre Dame: A jumbo target at 6-4, 218, Fields is another of those big receivers with the movement skills of a smaller pass catcher. He plays a lot like Michael Pittman and could make his way into the Rams’ starting lineup.
No. 61. LB Kyle Louis, Pittsburgh: The Rams are always tough to prognosticate, as we witnessed with their first-round selection of Ty Simpson. Although they might opt for a wide receiver here, Los Angeles could also use a linebacker with Omar Speights a 2027 free agent. Louis’ versatility (72.3-plus PFF coverage and run-defense grades) could be a fun asset for Chris Shula.
The mock drafts have a theme: Offense. All but Pro Football Focus mocked at least one offensive weapon to L.A., and three picked Notre Dame receiver Malachi Fields.
The Rams may have a sense of urgency with their Day 2 picks after focusing on the future with Simpson.
