AC Milan have been navigating choppy waters in recent weeks, with their Champions League qualification hopes hanging in the balance. Now, a familiar name has thrown his hat into the ring for the Rossoneri's managerial hot seat: Davide Ancelotti.

While current speculation links Vincenzo Italiano as the frontrunner to replace Max Allegri—whose future remains uncertain even if Milan secure a top-four finish—Davide Ancelotti has openly shared his dream of one day leading the club he grew up supporting.

In a candid interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, the younger Ancelotti reflected on his deep-rooted connection to Milan. He recalled a memorable moment when his father, legendary manager Carlo Ancelotti, gave him a first-team debut during a friendly against Dynamo Kiev. "It was Pato's first match for the Rossoneri," Davide said. "I got a telling off from Valerio Fiori for a suicidal back pass that forced him out of the goal."

His passion for the club runs even deeper. Ancelotti admitted to breaking down in tears after Milan's 2007 Club World Cup final victory over Boca Juniors. "Before embarking on this career, a lot. I'm not ashamed to say that as a fan I cried in Yokohama after the defeat against Boca," he revealed, correcting himself to note the victory.

When asked about managing Milan in the future, Ancelotti didn't hold back: it's a fantasy he'd love to turn into reality. For now, though, it remains a distant dream. With limited experience as a first-team manager, a high-profile move to the San Siro seems unlikely in the immediate future. But for any Rossoneri fan dreaming of a return to glory, the thought of an Ancelotti back in the dugout is certainly a tantalizing one.
