It was a golden era for Manchester United, and now a piece of that history has found a new home. A match-worn David Beckham shirt from the club's legendary 1999 Treble-winning season has sold for £10,000 at auction. The iconic red No. 7 jersey, donned by the midfield maestro during a league clash with Arsenal and an FA Cup tie against Chelsea, is a tangible reminder of a season that saw United lift the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League under Sir Alex Ferguson.

The auction, held by Budds auctioneers in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, wasn't just about Beckham. It also featured a pair of silver Nike boots worn by Cristiano Ronaldo during his first stint at Old Trafford. These boots, inscribed with "R9" on the tongue, sold for £7,500 and have an incredible backstory: they were rescued from a bin at United's Carrington training ground by cleaner Tony Heywood back in 2004. A black No. 7 shirt worn by Ronaldo in a tense 1-0 win over Liverpool at Anfield in 2005 fetched an even higher price of £14,000.

While these pieces of memorabilia found eager buyers, one item failed to meet its reserve. An original Manchester United stadium sign, removed from the famous Stretford End in 1992 with the personal permission of legendary manager Sir Matt Busby, didn't sell after its £40,000 reserve price wasn't met.

For collectors and fans alike, these items are more than just fabric and leather—they're chapters of football history. Whether you're looking to own a piece of the beautiful game or simply want to dress like your heroes, the stories behind these artifacts remind us why we love the sport.
