The New York Jets don’t lack bodies along the offensive line. They do, however, still have questions. That’s what makes this time of year so much fun. That's also what makes Keylan Rutledge's name so interesting.
The resume speaks for itself. After earning First-Team All-Conference USA honors in 2023, he followed that up with back-to-back First-Team All-ACC selections and capped his college career with First-Team All-American recognition in 2025.
That kind of progression doesn’t happen by accident. It reflects development, consistency, and a player who figured out how to dominate his level of competition. Trusted voices have noticed. One recently drew a line connecting a couple of dots.
He didn't hesitate or waffle. When asked by Paul Andrew Esden Jr. a direct question about which prospect he'd bang the table and suggest the Jets should add to their roster, NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah said the Jets should be paying close attention to the rising interior lineman when they're on the clock with the 44th overall selection.

It’s not hard to see why Jeremiah would make this type of claim. For the Jets, the fit is about more than accolades.
On paper, the roster already includes several players capable of lining up at guard—names like Liam Fornadel, Marquis Hayes, Dylan Parham, Xavier Newman, Kohl Levao, and Joe Tippman. That sounds like depth. In reality, it feels more like uncertainty. There are options, but few guarantees. Rutledge offers something different.
He brings size, strength, and the kind of physical presence teams covet on the interior. More importantly, he brings stability. That’s something the Jets have been searching for as they continue trying to build consistency up front and protect their offensive identity. That’s where Jeremiah’s point lands. The Jets don’t necessarily need to force a move here.
Still, if a player like Rutledge is available in the right range, passing on him could mean overlooking a potential long-term solution at a position that still feels unsettled. Because in the end, having bodies isn’t the same as having answers, and the Jets are still searching for the latter.
