The war of words between UFC president Dana White and boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has officially reached a boiling point, and it shows no signs of cooling down.
It all started earlier this week when White claimed he would be promoting the highly anticipated Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua showdown. But Hearn and Fury's promoter, Frank Warren, were quick to shut that down, insisting no such deal existed. Hearn didn't stop there—he fired back at White, calling him a "clout chaser" and challenging him to "find his balls." The insults have since sparked rumors that a physical fight between the two promoters could actually happen—a testament to just how personal this feud has become.
At UFC 328 in Newark, White was asked directly whether he's actually involved in promoting the Fury-Joshua fight. His response was anything but definitive. "I don't know, let's see what happens," he told IFL TV's Colm McGuigan, adding with a shrug, "Do I ever say stuff that really isn't true that doesn't happen?" When McGuigan repeated Hearn and Warren's denials, White simply replied, "Then it must not be true."
But when Bloody Elbow pressed him for a direct response to Hearn's "clout chaser" jab, White unleashed an explosive rant that left no doubt about his feelings.
"This fruit loop came out and said he's the biggest fight in boxing while he has Bam Rodriguez and Anthony Joshua and all the other guys that are out there," White fumed. "He's the biggest fight in boxing? Those are his words. You know what a fruit loop you've got to be to say that? Nobody knew who this guy was four months ago, and now he's the biggest fight in boxing? I hope I answered your question."
For fans following this heated rivalry, it's clear that White is not backing down. Whether this leads to an actual showdown—inside or outside the ring—remains to be seen. But one thing is certain: in the world of combat sports, where personalities are as big as the athletes themselves, this feud is just getting started.
