The long wait is almost over. Dana White has officially confirmed that Conor McGregor will make his highly anticipated return to the Octagon this summer, with a formal fight date and opponent announcement expected within days—no later than next week.

McGregor, who hasn't stepped into the cage since suffering a severe leg injury in his trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier five years ago, is reportedly set to headline UFC 329 on July 11. The rumored opponent? Former featherweight champion and current BMF titleholder Max Holloway. While nothing is finalized yet, the buzz around this matchup has fight fans on the edge of their seats.

White shared the news during an appearance on the Jim Rome Show, while promoting UFC 328 in Newark. After years of speculation and setbacks, the UFC boss sounded more confident than ever about the Irish superstar's return. "We are in a great place with Conor," White said. "I'm extremely confident that he will fight this year. We'll get him dialed in and ready to roll."

McGregor has spent much of this year in a focused training camp, noticeably quieter than usual as he dedicates himself to preparation. White added, "He seems motivated. He's training. There's footage out there. I thought it would happen last year, it didn't. I'm extremely confident it will happen this summer."

With International Fight Week on the horizon, all signs point to McGregor finally returning to the spotlight. Whether it's Holloway or another opponent, one thing is clear: the Notorious is back, and the MMA world is ready to welcome him.
