The 2026 NFL Draft is three days away, and all 32 NFL teams are scrambling to finalize their draft boards ahead of the 8:00 p.m. EDT start time on April 23.
The Washington Commanders have a difficult draft ahead of themselves with only six picks through all seven rounds, and zero picks in rounds two and four. This makes their round-one and round-three picks incredibly important to get right. Draft analyst Todd McShay seems to have it on solid authority that if Ohio State linebacker Sonny Styles is there, he's the pick at No. 7.

"There are people who are of the belief that Sonny Styles is the guy," McShay says of the New York Giants. "And I can tell you this for a fact, if you want Sonny Styles, you gotta get him at five because he's not going six, unless Dallas were maybe to trade up there if that were their intention, and we'll get to all this later. But he's going seven, so I'll just tell you that right now. If Sonny Styles is sitting there for the Washington Commanders, I'm told on pretty damn good authority, Dan Quinn, that's his guy."
It shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that Quinn feels this way about Styles. He fills a major need that the Commanders have right now, but one has to question if fellow Buckeye Carnell Tate is still on the board (which he will be), does this still stand true? Later in the show, McShay goes so far as to say that Styles is the pick over Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love, so you would have to assume that Tate being there has no impact, if what the insiders are saying is accurate.
Either way, the Commanders will have some solid options to choose from at No. 7, and all of them have the ability to immediately improve the roster.
