The Community School of Naples (CSN) boys lacrosse team stepped onto the field at Paradise Coast Sports Complex with high hopes, but Saint Andrew's had other plans. The Scots (20-3) wasted no time asserting their dominance, racing to a commanding lead before the Seahawks could even catch their breath. The final score—15-4—told the story of a team that came prepared and executed with precision.
For CSN, this Class 1A state semifinal loss marked their toughest defeat against an in-state opponent since Benjamin topped them by 11 goals last season. The Seahawks simply couldn't find an answer for the Scots' relentless attack and stifling defense.
"We played very well against a very good team and an excellent goalie," said Saint Andrew's coach Tony Seaman. "We shot the ball really well, which made me really happy."
The Scots' offensive firepower was on full display from the opening whistle. Whether it was quick transition goals or methodical set plays, Saint Andrew's seemed to have an answer for everything CSN threw at them. The Seahawks' defense worked hard to contain the Scots, but the pressure proved too much to handle.
With this win, Saint Andrew's advances to the Class 1A title game where they'll face rival Benjamin on Saturday, May 9. For CSN, the loss serves as a tough lesson and a reminder of the level needed to compete for a state championship. As the final seconds ticked away, the Seahawks could only watch and wonder what might have been—but with a young core and plenty of talent, the future still looks bright in Naples.
