In a celebration of athletic excellence and academic achievement, Community School of Naples standout Cameron Otterbeck was honored as the 2026 Winged Foot Scholar-Athlete Award winner during a memorable ceremony at the Ritz-Carlton Tiburon in Naples on Thursday, May 7.
Otterbeck, who has made his mark on the diamond as a baseball player and also shown his versatility on the golf course, was recognized for his remarkable balance between sports and studies. The Winged Foot Award, now in its 37th year, continues to highlight exceptional student-athletes who embody dedication, discipline, and a commitment to excellence both in competition and in the classroom.
The evening's keynote address was delivered by Tom Crean, a well-respected college basketball analyst and former head coach. Crean brought his wealth of experience and motivational insight to the banquet, inspiring the next generation of scholar-athletes in attendance.
The event also shone a spotlight on other deserving honorees. Golden Gate's Maurilio Solano and Immokalee's Sol Reyes were among those who posed for photos after the ceremony, representing the diverse talent and hard work across the region's athletic programs.
For young athletes looking to follow in Otterbeck's footsteps, this achievement serves as a powerful reminder that success on the field and in the classroom go hand in hand. Whether you're stepping up to the plate, lining up a putt, or hitting the books, the right mindset and gear can make all the difference in reaching your goals.
