The theme of the day was set early, as sophomore Carly Cook ignited the offense in Game 1. Her first-inning single drove in Josie Henson, sparking a five-run rally that propelled Crowder to a commanding 10-5 victory. Fellow second-year players Layla Pasley and Evelyn Comstock delivered key hits in the inning, showcasing the depth of the sophomore class.
Cook led the charge offensively, finishing 3-for-4 with four runs scored, while Callie Cooper and Comstock provided crucial support at the plate.
After celebrating the legendary "Ghostriders" alumni and the 1986 national championship team, Game 2 provided heart-stopping drama. The Roughriders found themselves in a deep 8-1 hole early, but refused to quit. Pitcher Tessa Groeneveld entered in relief to stabilize the game, allowing the offense to mount a stunning comeback.
