Sidney Crosby is seen by his peers as the NHL player most likely to become a head coach, according to the National Hockey League Players’ Association’s annual player poll released Friday. The 38-year-old Pittsburgh Penguins captain topped the category with 10.3% of the vote, followed by Minnesota’s Nick Foligno at 5% and Detroit’s David Perron, Toronto’s John Tavares and Calgary’s Ryan Strome at 2.6% or lower.

Ever wonder which NHL players their peers see as future coaches, fashion icons, or even the best golfers? The NHLPA's annual player poll, released Friday, gives us a fascinating glimpse into the locker room, and the results are in!

Topping the list for "most likely to become a head coach" is none other than Sidney Crosby. The 38-year-old Pittsburgh Penguins captain, renowned for his legendary hockey IQ and leadership, earned 10.3% of the vote from his fellow players. He was followed by Minnesota's Nick Foligno and a group including Detroit's David Perron and Toronto's John Tavares.

The poll, which anonymously surveyed 348 players, also highlighted some of the game's hardest workers. Colorado's Nathan MacKinnon, known for his explosive speed and power, was voted as having the most intense training regimen, a key reason behind his dominant on-ice performances.

Off the ice, Toronto's William Nylander stole the spotlight in two categories. "Willy Styles" lived up to his nickname, being crowned the league's most fashionable player and also earning top marks for the best social media presence. His style game is clearly as sharp as his wrist shot.

Other fun insights from the players themselves: Florida's Aleksander Barkov was seen as the forward most capable of playing defense, while Colorado's Cale Makar was the overwhelming choice for the defenseman who could excel as a forward. St. Louis goaltender Jordan Binnington took the title for best puck-handling goalie, and Utah's Clayton Keller was named the circuit's best golfer.

Finally, when it comes to the essentials, players voted Montreal's Bell Centre as having the best ice in the league and Detroit's Little Caesars Arena for the best visiting dressing room. The poll also showed strong player support for Houston as the next NHL expansion city and a clear preference to keep colored jerseys for home games.
