Jackson, a first-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft out of USC, brings a wealth of experience to the table. He spent his rookie contract with the Tennessee Titans (where his fifth-year option created some drama before being cut), followed by a four-year stint with the New York Giants—giving him plenty of reps against star receiver CeeDee Lamb. Most recently, he played for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2024, starting 10 games and recording 55 tackles, 11 pass breakups, and one interception.

What makes this visit particularly intriguing is the connection with new Cowboys defensive coordinator Christian Parker. Parker was Jackson's defensive backs coach in Philadelphia last season, and the two have already proven they can work effectively together. This isn't the first time Parker has looked to his past for reinforcements—he's already brought in players like Rashan Gary and P.J. Locke, who he worked with previously. But interestingly, no former Eagles had made the jump to Dallas this offseason until now.

The Cowboys have been searching for a long-term solution at cornerback for what feels like ages. While the safety position has been well-stocked, the cornerback room still needs depth and proven talent. Jackson, at 29 years old, could provide a reliable option with starting experience and a system familiarity that would allow him to hit the ground running.
