The Indianapolis Colts made waves on Thursday by releasing their 30-year-old Pro Bowl cornerback, a 2021 standout who had been with the team since 2017. Despite efforts to trade the veteran, the Colts couldn't find a deal, leaving the $30 million defender free to test the market. For teams looking to bolster their secondary, this is a golden opportunity—and three franchises are already in the spotlight.

The Big Lead's Michael Moraitis has linked the Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, and Cincinnati Bengals as top suitors. The Cowboys, fresh off drafting Caleb Downs in the 2026 NFL Draft, might use the cornerback to keep their options flexible, allowing Downs to shift between positions. For the Chiefs, adding this experienced cover man could be a game-changer for a cornerbacks room that just welcomed first-round pick Mansoor Delane, offering a clear upgrade on the inside.

But don't count out the Bengals. Cincinnati's defense, especially the secondary, ranked near the bottom of the league last season, struggling across most statistical categories. The Bengals have already made aggressive moves to turn things around, signing impactful free agents and pulling off a blockbuster trade for Dexter Lawrence with the New York Giants. Adding a proven cornerback with nearly a decade of Colts tenure—boasting 649 tackles, 11.5 sacks, and six forced forced fumbles in nine seasons—would be a logical next step.

Moraitis sees the Bengals as a serious contender for Moore's services, noting that a splashy signing like this fits their offseason pattern. With the Cowboys and Chiefs as obvious competitors, Cincinnati would be wise to stay in the race. After all, upgrading the secondary with a seasoned Pro Bowler could be the missing piece for a team hungry to compete in the AFC.
