The Dallas Cowboys have officially closed the book on the blockbuster Micah Parsons trade, and executive vice president Stephen Jones couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. The deal, finalized during the 2026 NFL Draft, initially sent the star pass rusher to an undisclosed team in exchange for veteran defensive tackle Kenny Clark, a 2026 first-round pick, and a 2027 first-round pick.
But as the dust settled, the Cowboys turned that initial haul into something much bigger. Through a series of savvy follow-up trades—which also involved sending defensive tackle Mazi Smith and a 2026 second-round pick elsewhere—Dallas ultimately landed a total of five players. The final roster additions include veteran defensive linemen Kenny Clark and Quinnen Williams, first-round edge rusher Malachi Lawrence, fourth-round cornerback Devin Moore, and fourth-round edge rusher LT Overton.
"We feel really good about it," Jones told Adam Schein on Mad Dog Sports Radio on May 5. "Obviously, much respect for Micah and what he stands for and how he plays and the caliber of player he is. At the same time, we feel good about what we've added via that trade."
Jones was especially enthusiastic about the acquisitions of Williams and Clark, calling them "alpha players" and praising their leadership qualities. For a Cowboys defense that struggled mightily last season, these additions could be exactly what the unit needs to turn things around. With the NFL draft now in the rearview mirror and the offseason in full swing, Dallas appears to be building a formidable defensive front—one that might just make fans forget the loss of their former star linebacker.
