The latest NFL draft intel ahead of Round 2 beginning could very much impact the Jacksonville Jaguars.

According to Bleacher Report’s James Palmer, he is hearing that there could be an early run on defensive tackles in the second round.

This, as we know, is a fairly significant position of need for the Jaguars, who won’t be on the clock until pick 56 — or 23 selections into Round 2.

Depth with only five tackles under contract currently is needed, as is a more consistent pass-rush presence, which was lacking from the interior late last season.

All things considered, the first round unfolded about as well as it could have for the Jaguars at this position, with only one defensive tackle being taken.

With four picks on Day 2 and 11 selections in total, the Jaguars have the flexibility to move up the draft board if needed.

Ultimately, that decision may largely be based on how the Jaguars’ big board falls and if the value makes sense. If Jacksonville has a number of prospects rated similarly or there is better value at another position, again, with 11 picks, James Gladstone has the flexibility to let the board dictate what he does, rather than feeling like addressing defensive tackle right away is a must.

Using the Rich Hill trade value chart as our guide, if the Jaguars were to move up to pick 35, they would have to part with picks 56, 81, and 164.

To jump to pick 40, that would cost picks 56, 88, and 203.

According to the consensus big board, some of the top options still available are Kayden McDonald (Ohio State), Christen Miller (Georgia), Lee Hunter (Texas Tech), Domonique Orange (Iowa State), and Gracen Halton (Oklahoma).
