The Maria Bonita Cup is back and ready to shine. After a stellar debut, the tournament’s second edition is set to take over Pernambuco’s sports calendar from November 12 to 21, with support from the CBF and the Pernambuco Football Federation.

Last year’s final between Fortaleza and Sport was a game-changer, drawing an audience of around 1.5 million viewers across Pernambuco and Ceará during its free-to-air TV broadcast. The match aired throughout the Northeast, putting women’s football in the spotlight and signaling the tournament’s growing influence.

This year, organizers are aiming even higher—on and off the pitch. Beyond the action, the Cup is expanding its social impact through a partnership with the Ademar Júnior Institute, offering training, multidisciplinary support, and personal development programs for girls in vulnerable situations. It’s a powerful reminder that sport can be a springboard for life-changing opportunities.

Adding a cultural twist, the tournament launches “The Northeast Wears the Maria Bonita Cup” campaign—a collection of T-shirts inspired by the nine Northeastern states. It’s a celebration of regional pride and identity, woven into the fabric of the competition. As the Cup continues to uncover new talent and create pathways in women’s football, this edition promises to be its most vibrant yet.
