The historic rise of Como continues, with the Lake Como club set to make their European debut next season—and their president has ambitious plans both on and off the pitch.

President Mirwan Suwarso has laid out a clear vision for the future, starting with a focus on Italian talent. "We aim to sign more Italian players," Suwarso stated, signaling a shift toward strengthening the squad's local identity as they prepare for the demands of European competition.

On the infrastructure front, the Stadio Sinigaglia is getting a major upgrade. The historic venue currently doesn't meet UEFA standards for European matches, but renovations are set to begin immediately after Sunday's clash with Parma. "We expect to complete the refurbishment works at the end of the summer," Suwarso confirmed.

Como have already made history by qualifying for Europe for the first time ever, and they're not done yet. Sitting just two points behind Roma and Milan in fourth, they're still in the hunt for a Champions League spot. But Suwarso is keeping his feet on the ground: "Jokes aside, we want to finish as high as possible, but we'll take what life gives us. The Champions League is not important—our target is to do better than the year before."

With European football on the horizon, the transfer market will be busy. "There will be some operations, but we don't have to start from scratch," Suwarso explained. "We already have a strong identity. The core of the team is already there. There will be 23 players returning from loans, and we'll have to find the best solution to make our transfers sustainable."

Some critics have pointed to Como's significant spending over the past two seasons, but Suwarso isn't bothered by the chatter. "We don't care what people say. Obviously, having resources helps, but football is full of examples where this equation hasn't led anywhere. The focus is not on how much we spend, but on building something lasting."

As Como prepare for a new chapter, one thing is clear: this isn't just a flash in the pan. With a mix of Italian grit, smart investment, and a stadium fit for Europe's elite, the Azzurri are building a foundation for sustained success.
