The Texas Longhorns' future offensive line just got a major boost with the commitment of 2027 three-star interior offensive lineman Keyon Hemphill-Woods. The Columbus, Texas native chose to stay home with the Longhorns, picking Texas over a strong list of suitors that included Texas A&M, Texas Tech, TCU, and Auburn.
Standing at 6-foot-3 and 275 pounds, Hemphill-Woods is a highly-touted prospect, ranked as the No. 24 interior offensive lineman in his class by 247Sports. His commitment caps off a strong spring recruitment where he made multiple visits to the Forty Acres, ultimately deciding to end his process after a final push from the Texas coaching staff.
For Hemphill-Woods, this decision fulfills a lifelong dream. "I chose Texas because there's no other place like it," he told Horns247. "The coaches there are the best you can ask for. I have been wanting to go to Texas since I was a kid so when I was blessed to have an opportunity to play there I was super grateful."
His on-field pedigree is impressive. He helped lead the Columbus Cardinals to a Texas 3A Division I state championship as a sophomore and a deep playoff run as a junior. Beyond his high school success, he brings a winning pedigree from his family; his cousin, LaAdrian Waddle, was an NFL offensive tackle for seven seasons, earning two Super Bowl rings with the New England Patriots.
This commitment is a significant win for head coach Steve Sarkisian and offensive line coach Kyle Flood, securing a talented, homegrown lineman who is already a proven winner and is "100 percent locked in" to building the future in Austin.
