The Washington Commanders are on the hunt for another explosive wide receiver to give quarterback Jayden Daniels the best possible support in his crucial third season. While the team has been frequently linked to disgruntled San Francisco 49ers star Brandon Aiyuk, that deal remains uncertain—and that's where a new trade pitch comes into play.
According to a proposal from Heavy's Max Dible, the Commanders could pivot to Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy, sending a fifth-round pick to Ohio in exchange for the 27-year-old Pro Bowl talent. Jeudy is currently playing on a $52.5 million contract with two years remaining, and Cleveland's recent draft additions—including wideouts KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston—have made him an intriguing trade candidate.
"Jeudy has value in Cleveland this season, but not that much," Dible noted. "The team selected KC Concepcion No. 24 overall, then saw Denzel Boston fall to them at No. 39. Jeudy has two years remaining on his $52.5 million deal and will be an obvious trade/cut candidate heading into next offseason when the Browns are poised to add their QB of the future."
The logic is compelling: Cleveland originally acquired Jeudy for a fifth-rounder and a sixth-rounder two years ago. If they can recoup that fifth-round pick now, it's a solid return given his production over that span. "Win-win," Dible concluded.
Jeudy's career has been a mixed bag—he led the NFL in drops during the 2024-25 season, and maturity concerns have followed him since his Denver days. But the former Alabama standout remains a high-level talent with impressive speed and space-creating ability. In 17 games with the Browns last season, he logged 602 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
For a Commanders team looking to maximize Daniels' development, Jeudy's skill set could be exactly what the offense needs. While he's far from the flashiest name on the market, this trade proposal offers a realistic path to adding a proven playmaker without breaking the bank.
