Before she even signed to play soccer, Kenzie Daniels knew she wanted to go to Connors State College. But when she was offered to play soccer in the nearby Warner, she knew for sure she was going to be a member of the Cowgirl family. For Kenzie Daniels, the decision to attend Connors State College was never really in doubt. Even before she signed on to play soccer, the standout defender had her sights set on the Warner, Oklahoma campus—drawn by its highly-regarded medical program. But when the opportunity to join the Cowgirl soccer team came knocking, her path became crystal clear.

"I already knew I was going to Connors State because of their fast-track program for physical and occupational therapy," Daniels said. "But when my senior year started, I knew I wanted to keep playing, so I reached out to them."

That initial outreach from the Lady Tiger senior defender sparked a quick connection with the CSC coaching staff. Soon, Daniels was touring the campus and meeting her future teammates, who rolled out the welcome mat.

"They were so welcoming and excited for me to come, telling me they had big plans," she recalled. "The girls were great throughout the tour, just trying to get to know me and answering all my questions."

On April 29, Daniels officially made it official, signing her letter of intent and securing a $4,000 scholarship to join the Cowgirl family.

She's stepping into a program that's still building its foundation. Last season, Connors State finished 1-11-2, facing a gauntlet of ranked opponents. Daniels knows the jump to college soccer will be a challenge, but she's ready to put in the work.

"It's going to be 10 times harder than high school," she said. "But with intense training this summer and bonding with the team, I believe it will be just as good."

Daniels brings serious defensive credentials to Warner. As part of a seasoned Lady Tigers backline featuring fellow seniors Audi Espinoza, Shaylee Sherill, Avrie Baker, and Lizzie Hubbard, she helped lead Tahlequah to an 11-8 record and a playoff berth—the program's first since 2018. Over the final four games of the regular season, the defense posted three clean sheets and finished with seven shutouts overall.

"It's been really good because we know what we're doing now," Sherill said of the defensive unit, which has largely played together since their freshman year. "We don't make the mistakes we used to. It's nice to be able to relax on the field."

For Daniels, the next chapter is about more than just soccer. It's about pursuing her passion for physical and occupational therapy while competing at the next level—a combination that made Connors State the perfect fit all along.
